Health & Safety Manager

We are looking for a Health and Safety Manager to take the lead in developing Hallmark’s health and safety agenda, influencing our culture and ensuring we create a safe environment for all our employees.  A hands on role you will be responsible for:

  • Working cross functionally with internal team, customers and suppliers to develop and implement business wide decisions and/or projects in order to deliver the annual H&S plan
  • Ensure consistent and full compliance with the agreed Company HR and Safety Policies, procedures and instructions
  • Create an environment for change through personal commitment and drive, and motivate others to do so via actively a ‘can do’ attitude, effective communication, team building and continuous learning
  • Host external audits, delivering robust improvement plans where required
  • Ensure full, accurate and timely investigation of all incidents/accidents, working with the management teams to implement sustainable preventative actions
  • Deliver H&S training to operational teams, focussed on building capability and fostering a culture of accountability
  • Own all health and safety documents, policies and procedures
  • Produce timely and accurate management information as required, identifying opportunities for improvements supported by detailed data analysis
  • Lead by example in terms of spotting workplace hazards and raising safety awareness

 

Needless to say, you have the technical expertise, you’re experienced in the practical application of regulations, legislation, policies and procedures, but to really excel in this role we’re looking for you to demonstrate:

  • An exceptional track record in managing and delivering Health and Safety agendas and improvements
  • Your investment in your personal and professional development to increase your impact and success at work
  • Creating, embedding and leveraging a Health and Safety culture through all levels of a business
  • Experience in working in an operations, manufacturing, and/or distribution centres, as well as office environments would be a significant advantage
  • Experience of influencing at all levels, through exceptional people skills, rather than relying solely on policies and procedures
  • You know your audience, adjusting communications, visuals and information to suit
  • You are comfortable with technology and software, well versed in using technology to create efficiencies
