Account Manager - Convenience - 12 months

We're looking for an Account Manager to take the lead with our Convenience customers, proactively representing your customer and be the customers’ voice within Hallmark, for approximately 12 months.  As the day to day Commercial lead, you will own the primary relationship with the relevant retailer buyers & commercial contacts, ensuring proactive & collaborative joint business plans are executed flawlessly. Through the delivery of the highest levels of operational excellence, you'll artfully leverage your skills, putting together and closing profitable business deals, whilst seamlessly integrating data and insight across sales, service level and category performance into your joint business plans and execution.  
 
Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Be the lead contact with your customer and manage both the immediate and the long term relationship with the customer
  • Create & execute the business plan day to day, whilst levering varied solutions to maximize profits and minimize the cost of any plan 
  • Identify, manage and deliver profitable solutions to commercial, operational and seasonal challenges
  • Deliver the internal annual operating plan and drive sales, profitability and operational targets in partnership and collaboration with the customer – developing recommendations to feed in to the trading and category vision
  • Support the delivery of the high level plan and any contractual commitments, JBP and overall business objectives
  • Influence a cross functional team and represent the customer’s needs internally – helping Hallmark and the customer to win in the market – inputting in to CDP alignment and range builds (eg. Retail Merch, Customer Ops, Product, Marketing)
  • Own weekly alignment meetings, post implementation reviews and lead update meetings with the support of the wider team
  • Assist the development and mentoring of team members
  • Take responsibility for your own continued personal development

 

As the commercial lead you'll work with Hallmarkers across our business to ensure we're all on track to deliver outstanding results for our convenience customers. 

 

To be successful in this role we're looking for you to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience of Account Management, skilled across new business and business development
  • Previous experience of successfully working with UK convenience retailers and have a proven successful track record of deliverables
  • You're a skilled, natural negotiator and story teller, leading customers and stakeholders through the journey with you
  • An ability to work accurately with numbers and data, evident in their interpretation and use when influencing your customer and stakeholders
  • Excellent working knowledge of the grocery retail market, alongside macro and micro influences impacting it
  • You're adept at relationship management and have great communication skills, which you are able to flex with your varied customer/stakeholders as necessary
  • A high level of commercial acumen, skilled with numbers and excellent attention to detail
  • Be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and making educated, speedy decisions with incomplete information
  • You are comfortable and confident working with Excel, PowerPoint and other relevant software and systems
