Senior Product Development and Range Manger - Christmas - 12 month contract

This is a temporary 12-month role for a Senior Product Development & Range manager (SPDRM) to deliver Christmas 2026. You will be accountable for driving the product development strategy and delivery of Christmas 2026 product development to agreed Critical path dates. Working with merchandising and commercial, you are responsible for creating the optimum Caption and Sku framework to drive sales to agreed financials and ensuring product is developed to this framework.

Your main responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Drives the development and delivery of an insight led, market leading product strategy
  • Use market insights, competitor analysis, sales data, and customer research to drive best in class Christmas 26 product range.
  • Oversees cost discussions with supply base, procurement and commercial. Responsible for Workbook and ensuring product development meets required HMK and customer's margin requirements.
  • With wider team, identifies product gaps and ensure proposals are delivered to customer in line with the agreed creative vision
  • Ensures agreed Proposal of RRP to customer and confirmation of RSP from customer
  • Delivers brand offer on cards
  • Ensure Execution of the range builds for ‘largest/ smallest and most common’ plans within a range strategy including architecture, pricing and fixture/display and layout 

We’re looking for experienced Product Manager at ease with the customer and full lifecycle.  

To be successful you will need to demonstrate:

  • Educated to degree level or experience within a product development/marketing discipline or equivalent industry related experience
  • Solid product development lifecycle knowledge and experience, ideally creative led, FMCG environment, including pricing, sourcing, contract negotiations and supplier management
  • Solid experience in a product development or a buying role with proven commercial success (Christmas experience preferable)
  • Experience of performance management and developing talent across direct and indirect teams, would be a significant advantage
  • You’re a skilled negotiator, resilient and comfortable managing multiple, often conflicting priorities, identifying compromises to deliver to fixed objectives and KPIs
  • Experience building product ranges and articulating the rationale behind selections across multiple seasons and product lines
  • A natural ability for bringing strategy to life and winning over varied stakeholder groups through relevant insights and sales data
  • Commercial acumen and experience of delivering profitable products within KPIs 
  • Knowledge and experience of costing and product pricing, sourcing, contract negotiations and supplier management
  • To be flexible, resourceful, agile and resilient, whilst staying focused on objectives and targets
  • Comfortable with insights driven decision making, data management and reporting for varying audiences to identify trends, give trading commentary and propose trading activity and intervention
