Merchandise Planner
As a Visual Merchandiser (Planner), you’ll play a key role in bringing our customer‑focused creative vision and commercialised range builds to life at store level across all formats and channels. Working closely with Product & Range Managers and wider commercial teams, you’ll support the preparation and execution of customer range builds, system setup and store‑level planning activity.
You’ll contribute to Hallmark’s business objectives by ensuring stores are visually consistent, compliant and ready to trade. Through accurate planning, data‑led insight and strong operational support, you’ll help enable effective store execution and customer impact.
Your Responsibilities
- Understand retailer strategy, creative vision and commercial KPIs, translating ranging strategies into store‑level planograms by mission, format and channel.
- Use display planning software, including Card Manager, to execute all planogram cascades.
- Build from Largest and Most Common range builds using system‑led product ranking.
- Load and maintain store plans, planograms and stock allocations using planning tools such as Card Manager, Link5 and Order Pool.
- Support store refits, fixture changes and new launches by producing accurate documentation and clearly communicating with internal teams and third‑party partners.
- Keep planogram, fixture and store information up to date throughout the product lifecycle, from launch through to exit.
- Produce and maintain weekly and ad‑hoc reports to support decision‑making across Visual Merchandising, Customer Operations and Commercial teams.
- Action plan‑level pocket amendments to optimise stock availability and performance.
- Translate store plans and layouts into clear, user‑friendly formats for third‑party merchandisers and external partners.
- Maintain store plan libraries, POS matrices and compliance image banks, identifying and resolving inaccuracies with key stakeholders.
Your Accountabilities
- Delivery of accurate and timely store‑level plans.
- Ongoing SKU‑level maintenance and system accuracy.
- High standards of data capture, integrity and version control across all planning systems.
- Adherence to Critical Date Paths to support launches, refits and range changes.
- Providing reliable operational support to enable wider teams to meet commercial and customer objectives.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships across internal departments and stakeholders.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in systems, processes and ways of working.
To Be Successful You Will Need
- Experience working with large datasets and strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs (essential); Power Query and Macros (desirable).
- Experience using Card Manager or similar planning tools (desirable).
- Strong systems capability with confidence troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions.
- Experience in an administrative or planning‑related role, managing workloads, deadlines and Critical Date Paths (essential).
- High attention to detail with a structured, problem‑solving mindset.
- Ability to prioritise effectively and work to deadlines across multiple timelines.
- Clear and confident communication skills, with a collaborative approach across teams.
