As a Finance Business Analyst, you’ll play a key role in driving commercial insight and supporting strategic decision-making across the business. Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, you’ll work in a matrix-managed, cross-functional environment—collaborating with teams across commercial, operations, and finance to bring clarity to complexity.

 

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Business Partnering/Functional Collaboration & Communication
    • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business. Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights that drive better decisions.
  • Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking—owning customer P&Ls from Net Revenue to EBIT. Provide timely and accurate reporting and analysis for commercial areas.
  • Commercial Modelling & Decision Support
    • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate tenders, pricing strategies, promotions, and new business opportunities. Provide clear, data-driven recommendations to support strategic initiatives.
  • Profitability & Performance Insight
    • Deliver and enhance customer and product profitability analysis. Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve commercial performance.
  • Process Improvement
    • Continuously seek ways to streamline financial processes, reduce manual effort, and improve the speed and quality of decision-making.
  • Team Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
    • Work closely with colleagues across finance and the wider business to share insights, support development, and contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture.

 

Your Key Accountabilities

  • Support the Finance Business Partner to deliver customer P&L’s from Net Revenue to EBIT, budget setting, tracking and improving across all cost lines
  • Deliver accurate, insightful financial analysis that supports business performance and strategic goals.
  • Ensure the integrity and consistency of financial data and reporting.
  • Provide informed, constructive challenge to stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
  • Actively contribute to the development of tools, models, and processes that enhance financial insight.

 

To be successful, you'll need to:

  • Demonstrate excellent business partnering skills; with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful management information, providing insight to support decisions.
  • Be comfortable providing constructive, informed challenge (solution focused) and escalation as appropriate
  • Studying towards a recognized finance qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA), we'll provide study support too.
  • Be a strong communicator—able to simplify complex financial concepts for non-financial audiences, providing provide clear and accurate commercial decision making support
  • Have the ability to forge strong relationships with commercial partners 
  • Be commercially astute with a keen eye for detail and a passion for problem-solving.
  • Be proactive, self-motivated, and resourceful—comfortable working independently in a lean structure.
  • Be confident in building financial models and drawing out actionable insights.
  • Be collaborative and adaptable—thrives in a matrix-managed, cross-functional environment.
  • Be curious, ambitious, and always looking for ways to grow and add value.
  • Have previous experience of high quality of reporting of data and analytics 
  • Demonstrate a digital mindset, comfortable leveraging technology such as PowerBI, SAP, Tableau to improve ways of working
  • Have working knowledge of and ideally experience applying UK financial regulations or compliance standards in the decision-making process.
  • An active awareness of the importance of data integrity or secure handling of financial data
