Samples and Benchmarking Coordinator

A central part of the product team, you’ll co-ordinate tasks and information for the use of Product and Range Managers.  A varied role you’ll be our eyes on our competitors’ products, collating and sharing information to keep our products at the forefront of the market, alongside a range of other activities which will enable your team to stay on track and make right first time decisions

Your Responsibilities:

  • Sample management
    • Coordinating the collation and management of samples 
    • Leading reviews and facilitating conversation between M&S and Technical to ensure samples are fit for purpose 
    • Making judgement calls on compromises/adjustments to samples to ensure the final sample and product is fit for purpose from the point of view of Technical, the Customer and Consumer
    • Managing the CDP and any related customer expectations associated with the samples process
    • Working closely with the Product and Range Manager to ensure samples are available in line with the CDP and broader product and range strategy
  • Competitor shopping and analysis – Scanning the greeting cards market, logging and analysing product specification information and sharing information with key stakeholders through reports, presentations and updates.
  • Product showcase events – Supporting showcase events, collating products, setting up displays and all round support
  • Manufacturer co-ordination – Working with manufacturing teams, designers and customers to ensure samples, products and point of sale materials are produced on time and managing any risks or impacts of delays
  • Support your Product team with administrative tasks such as data entry, product design and specification changes, systems updates, booking couriers, purchase orders etc

To be successful you will need:

  • Comfortable going out to retails stores and collating information
  • A quick learner, you’re always finding ways to learn how you can better support others and ensure people have what they need, when they need it
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and people skills, well versed in building relationships to ensure you can fix problems and find solutions
  • Excellent organisation and prioritising skills
  • Excellent IT skills, including systems, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ideally Illustrator
  • Confidence to flag, push back or challenge appropriately, sharing relevant information with others
  • Awareness of the wider impact of delays, decision making and how to minimise these effects 
  • Excellent attention to detail, both logging and collating information 
  • Previous admin, product and co-ordination experience, ideally within a product, FMCG or retail environment, would be a significant advantage
  • An interest in Hallmark’s products and the retail industry, would be an advantage
